Winning Wedge Play Starts This Winterchicagogolfonline.com
Issue: October 2011
As the outdoor golf season comes to a close and you move your game into a dome, it’s time to focus on improving for next year. My advice? Focus your off-season energies on your wedge play.
The best way to become a better wedge player is to improve your distance control, or the distance the ball travels in the air. From course to course, the distance a ball rolls will vary—but the distance it travels in the air (carry) can be controlled by the length of your swing. Bring all your wedges to the dome, and instead of trying to create a specific carry distance, focus on a swing that has a specific length and see how far the ball carries.
